IntipSeleb – Nominasi Oscar 2021 atau Academy Awards 2021 telah resmi diumumkan. Pasangan serasi Hollywood, Nick Jonas dan Priyanka Chopra berkesempatan untuk menyampaikan nominasi kepada sejumlah karya film sepanjang tahun.
Menyusul nominasi yang telah diumumkan, perhelatan Oscar 2021 akan digelar pada Minggu, 25 April 2021. Jika ajang Oscar pada umumnya digelar di Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, ajang tahun ini akan dilaksanakan sedikit berbeda mengingat pandemi COVID-19 yang masih melanda.
Ajang penghargaan bergengsi ini nantinya akan diselenggarakan dari berbagai tempat secara virtual. Namun, pihak Academy Awards belum memberikan bocoran pasti mengenai detail ajang ini akan berlangsung.
“Di tahun yang unik ini yang telah ditanya oleh banyak orang, Akademi bertekad untuk mempersembahkan Oscar yang tiada duanya, sambil memprioritaskan kesehatan dan keselamatan publik semua yang akan berpartisipasi," ungkap pihak Oscars 2021 dilansir dari The Wrap pada sebuah pernyataan Februari 2021.
Sama halnya dengan presenter yang akan memandu acara Oscars 2021. Tahun 2020 lalu, Jane Fonda yang berkesempatan memandu acara ini. Namun untuk tahun ini, Academy Awards belum memberikan kepastian.
Nominasi Oscar 2021 dihiasi oleh film yang tayang di Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, hingga Hulu. Film Mank mendominasi kategori dengan mendapatkan 10 nominasi. Viola Davis dan mendiang Chadwick Boseman masuk nominasi Best Actress dan Best Actors berkat film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
Kategori Best Picture Oscar 2021 selalu menjadi sorotan. Jika tahun lalu film asal Korea Selatan, Parasite menjadi pemenangnya. Tahun ini film The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Mank, Minari, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal, dan The Trial of the Chicago 7 harus bersaing menyabet penghargaan utama.
